San Francisco is celebrating winter and the holiday season in style. If you can't think of one reason to visit, try 100 reasons instead.
With an urban history dating back more than 350 years and a hopping harbor area with breweries, cozy restaurants, maritime museums and sites, Portland makes for a romantic winter getaway. Stroll the quiet cobblestone streets, pop into art galleries and crafts stores hawking pies, copper goods, scarves and hats.
Konichiwa! Last week we left off from France, Ireland, New York City and Los Angeles. That was all in the matter of 3 days -- no wonder I was jet-lagged. As you can see from the greeting, I'm now in the Far East on another overseas adventure.
New Orleans is back. New Orleans is flat on its back. New Orleans is normal again. Except for the parts that will never be the same again.
Not surprisingly, the number of travelers to Sin City drops in December and so does the price of getting there.

From LiLo: "Hi! I am a Norwegian girl planning a backpacking vacation in Latin America with my boyfriend. We are going via London to New York and then to Costa Rica. We have bought the tickets and have new machine readable passports for transfering through a US airport. But now I am concerned if we will have problems in getting into the USA because of my boyfriends past."
From jp047: "Two weeks ago I booked a trip through AAA Motor Club with General Tours. We decided to cancel. I called the agent at AAA and she said she would cancel. She then calls me back and said they charge $100 per person for any cancellation. Our trip was for April 29th which would be more than 140 days from now. The agent should have informed me of General's policy so I have an issue with both companies. Also, be aware if you make any changes with General they will charge $30."
From copper00: "Hi, We are going to various places in Argentina in December. I have a few questions about driving there."
From chappy: "We just returned from a trip that ranks very high on the list! We flew to Madrid and on to Malaga, then tooka train and cabs to Calohonda. We stayed at the Dona Lola which ended up being a great location. The timeshare book recommends a rental car to really see the area, but we found it was easier to book tours through the resort for Gibraltar and Morocco and then use public transportation for the rest of our roamings!"
From ljhomes: "I wrote a year ago about our fantastic experience on Margarita. For anyone who has been there recently, please tell us the effects (if any) the Venezuela political situation has had on tourists, especially from the US? To avoid Caracas and the international airport, where are jumping off points from the US that go directly to Margarita? It would be a joy to once again sink my toes into the warm white sand of the Playa Blanca, sipping a rum and coke (or a margarita!)"
