From trinigirlmd: "My husband and I would like to visit LV sometime in 2005. We're thirty-something, well-traveled, budget-oriented travelers. We take about 4 trips a year, so we cannot afford to break the bank on this one. We will be visiting Vegas to gawk at the places we've seen in movies and on tv, eat in a couple good buffets, see a couple (family-oriented) shows and go to the M&M Store. We don't gamble. As we plan our trip what's the best tip/piece of advice you could offer about having a fun but affordable trip?"
From Dominic Kelly: "My family and I did an 11-week trip through parts of the USA and Canada between late March and mid-June 2004. We had a wonderful trip to North America, one that we will remember fondly for many years. Upon our return to Australia we put together a simple website, with photos and comments on our trip."
From joanne ilkka: "We will be traveling from London to Paris in March and would like to know the pros and cons of chunnel vs flights (on British Midlands, EasyJet or Ryanair). We will have a day to travel and will make our final flight from Paris to US so no need to return to London for the flight home. I'd appreciate any information."
Sheila McDonald: "We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Portugal. We stayed 1 week in Praia da Rocha, Algarve and 1 week in Queluz (suburb of Lisbon) . We found a great Restaurant in Praia da Rocha and dined there three times during our 1 week stay. The restaurant is called Leo's Bistro on Av. Tomas Cabreira just off the Edificio Atlantico at the west end of Praia da Rocha. Although the restaurant does not face the Ocean, it is on a side street, the food certainly makes up for missing the view. We had such a great time we are going back in March for a month and will be staying in Carveiro and would appreciate hearing of any other restaurants in that area or in Portimao that subscribers could recommend."
From J A S: "The Arab traders aptly named Sri Lanka Serendib or Island of Gems. Subsequent colonizers such as the Portuguese, Dutch and British left their imprint as well. The island is incredibly beautiful with lush emerald landscapes and a turquoise Indian Ocean. It is a tangle of coconut trees, swaying palms, banana, mango and papaya trees, hibiscus and frangipani, swirling butterflies, prolific birdlife."
