Reader's Voice
From Jane B: "I consider myself a pretty resourceful Internet researcher, but I'm coming up dry with practical information on planning to snowbird - locating a short term furnished rental, rerouting mail, etc., and all the details that would go into heading south for a few months. Do you have any sites to recommend for information or just tips on how to successfully, unstressfully be a snowbird?"
From rommanna03: "Long planned trips are ok, but there are times when I want to get away at the last minute or on short notice. How do I save at those times?"
From fran finkelstein: "I can't thank this forum enough for the many tips that helped make our Aruba vacation one of the best I have had in my 58 years. Taking the time to read all the tips helped us enormously. So now that we just returned I would like to offer people the same help you have all showed me."
From Wayne Chan: "I've just returned from a one week trip in Italy. On the third day of my trip, I was riding the Inter-City train from Genova to Pisa. I left my luggage at the luggage rack at the head of the car next to other passengers luggages. During the 2-hours train ride, I got up from my seat and checked my luggage once. By the time the train arrived my destination Pisa, I was horrified to find out my luggage was gone."
From Tricia D: "After reading many reviews (most positive, some not) on this site and others, my friend and I decided to use Orbit Tours, based out of Egypt for a 12 day trip to Egypt and Jordan. I must admit, we have always traveled independently and have never used a 'tour operator' before -- and, this was our first trip to Africa/Middle East. Orbit's policy of handing over US $ on arrival in Cairo also had us freaked out!"
