From deantrans: "I took a P&O liner from California to Auckland for $360 one-way--in 1962. I want to duplicate the experience but cannot possibly afford full-fare luxury trips. What's the cheapest way to make this trip by ship? I'll consider almost anything but cooking for a crew of 800 on an oil tanker."
From ebanducci:"Just returned from a Greek tour booked through Globus. The tour included a 4 day cruise on the Louis Hellenic Perla ship."
From Eeyore: "As a veteran of 10 cruises I'd like to share some of our experiences. My wife and I are two thirty-somethings who took our first cruise in 1998. We've sailed on three different cruise lines (Carnival, RCL, Princess) on large and small ships."
From Tom Bell: "Has anyone else had this problem? We're traveling on the Disney Magic on July 30th. I called yesterday to book some excursions and make some dinner reservations and was told that there was still a balance on the cruise. We paid off the cruise to the Travel Agent on April 7th!"
From dlr: "My husband and I are planning on going on a 10 day Meditteranean cruise aboard Celebrity's Century in September. We looked at the prices of the shore excursions and thought they are very pricey. Anybody going on this cruise or has been on this cruise with advice on touring the ports on our own? I heard that going in groups and planning your own excursions with local tour groups might be the way to go. Anybody interested?"
