Extended: Direct Air's Family Ties Sale
Direct Air (tel. 877/432-3473; www.visitdirectair.com) has extended their Family Ties Sale through Nov. 23. This offer is good for travel during the holidays or after. Purchase a flight voucher for just $169 round-trip, incl. all taxes and fees, valid for travel along any domestic Direct Air route. Purchase up to 20 vouchers. You're not required to provide the names of passengers at time of purchase, so tickets are transferable to any friend or family member. Vouchers are good for travel from Nov. 28, 2011-Oct. 31, 2012.
As with their previous Family Ties sales, purchases include the $60 Family Ties Passport membership, and a $109 round-trip airfare including all taxes (= the $169 voucher). Passport Membership benefits include complimentary coach seat selection, 50% off First-Class upgrades within 48 hours of departure (when available), pre-boarding and reduced change/cancellation fee of $50 per person. However, members are still subject to baggage fees.

Delta's Spring/Summer Sale to the Caribbean
Beginning in March, Delta Airlines (tel. 800/221-1212; www.delta.com) will boost service between New York's JFK and San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as both Santo Domingo and Santiago in the Dominican Republic. And look for new nonstop service from New York's LaGuardia to Nassau, Bahamas.
Intro specials are available for travel from March 2 through Aug. 20. Tickets must be booked by Nov. 30.

From the Mailbag: Shopping & Earning Miles
Q: I have read your recent posts about shopping through airline websites and registering your credit cards to get bonus frequent flier miles. That is brilliant! But, here is my question: If you use a credit card that gives you frequent flier miles, do you get the miles on your credit card, and on the airlines that you choose? And what if you registered your cards on, say, three different airlines. Would you get frequent flier miles on your credit card and all three of the airlines simultaneously (assuming they all are participants in that particular store" target="_blank">?
