Biz Fares from $750 Round-Trip to London from Noo Yawk; $999 from D.C.

For a short time, MaxJet is selling super fares on business class from NYC and D.C. to London that beat other carriers' economy-class fares during the peak summer season.

MaxJet (tel. 888-435-9629; www.maxjet.com) is having a super sale from New York to London. Seats are $750 round-trip including taxes for Tuesday or Wednesday travel, even in the height of the summer. We checked outbound July 4 and return July 11 and found that British Airways, Virgin, and American were all charging $796 round-trip with taxes in economy class. But MaxJet¿s service is all-business class in addition to being almost $50 less.

Change fees are a relatively low $100 (other airlines usually charge $200 or more on international flights, if they let you change at all). The only catch is that MaxJet flies into Stansted Airport instead of closer-to-London Heathrow. However, there is relatively swift train service into London on the Stansted Express (www.stanstedexpress.com), and Stansted is a hub for many discount airlines such as easyJet (www.easyjet.com) if you want to travel onward to Europe.

Book by March 27 and travel until December 31, 2006. Use code JFK06. They¿re also offering $999 round-trip fares from Washington Dulles to Stansted (use code IntroDC).
