In addition to the basket full of bargains enumerated last week for airfare discounts, we've got two more to add to the list; national carrier Air Canada and the no-frills Airtran.
Air Canada's has cut prices up to 30% on roundtrip fares from U.S. cities to any of its Canadian destinations. Tickets must be purchased no later than January 20 for travel through April 30, 2003. Following JetBlue's example, you get a little bump in savings when you make your reservations online--$5 off every roundtrip ticket.
Sample roundtrip itineraries, before the online savings, include:
- Allentown, PA to Gander, Newfoundland from $377
- Cleveland to Toronto $147
- Dallas to Quebec City $319
- Phoenix to Calgary $217
Prices don't include taxes and security fees. Air Canada flies out of most major U.S. airports on its own planes or through codeshares with other airlines. For more information, go online to www.aircanada.com/specials/newyear_us/ or call 888/247-2262.
Atlanta-based Airtran has put many of its routes on sale through January 14 for travel through May 21, 2003, with the exceptions of Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, Grand Bahama, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach; travel to these points must be completed by February 12. A seven-day advanced purchase is required. You can fly any day of the week before February 12th, but after that date travel on Fridays and Sundays will be excluded. Roundtrip purchases are not required.
Sample roundtrip fares include:
- Akron to Orlando $188
- Atlanta Myrtle Beach $98
- Baltimore to Tampa $124
- Buffalo to Pensacola $188
- Dayton to Jacksonville $188
- Flint to Orlando $158
- Wichita to Raleigh-Durham $148
