Delta Airlines is reducing fares to Anchorage from everywhere in the United States good for travel now through September 7th of next year. They're also giving you enough time to do a little preplanning; tickets must be purchased by November 6, 2002. But with seats being sold for trips that far in advance, there are a few rule changes for different time periods, the most notable (and notorious) being a $100 surcharge for changes to your ticket after January 1, 2003. Before that, you can fly standby for a different flight on the same travel date without being penalized. Certain travel periods will require a Saturday night stay as well.
The lowest roundtrip airfare is a Salt Lake City-Anchorage route coming in at $359 before taxes and fees. Most other markets, including Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas/Ft. Worth, NYC, Orlando and Washington, D.C., start from $486. Honolulu to Anchorage is $643.
