August 11, 2004 -- We just can't get enough of "Lost Wages," and, apparently, neither can anyone else. Nearly 17million people visited last year alone, making it one of the top ten tourist destinations in the world. I just returned from there, and, despite the 107° heat, vacationers were having the times of their lives -- mainly staying indoors for gaming, glitzy shows and celeb spotting.

America West is offering a $25 per person discount on any air/hotel booking you make through www.vegas.com. The offer is valid for travel through September 30, and you must book by August 31. You can find complete details at www.vegas.com/travel/awv_promotion.html?vc1=1&vc2=promo_gph_flyawv_2. Please note that Vegas.com's page reads that the booking deadline is August 15; however, the company was more than happy to extend the buy-by date as a courtesy to readers of Frommers.com.

Vegas.com is owned by the big Greenspun Media Group, which also owns the Las Vegas Sun. Reservations for this offer must be made no later than August 22 with travel valid through September 30.

If you book online at www.mgmgrand.com (click on Promotions) by September 30, for stays at the MGM Grand between Sunday and Thursday nights, you'll get a variety of little extras to add to the mix such as:

  • A $35 dining credit
  • A Two-for-one spa facility pass
  • Free Studio 54 admission
  • Twofer drink special at The Show Bar

Make reservations at www.nynyhotelcasino.com (click on Specials) for stays through September 30 at New York New York, and receive:

  • Twofer breakfast at Il Fornaio
  • Twofer drinks at the Big Apple Bar
  • Two passes on the Manhattan Express Roller

If you book two nights for Sun-Thurs stays through September 16 for Treasure Island at www.treasureisland.com (click on Promotions), you get:

  • Treasure Island tote bag & towel
  • Twofer frozen cocktails at Kahunaville

September 5 is blacked out for all hotels, while Treasure Island has additional non-qualifying dates of August 15-18 & 29-31 and September 8 & 9. A spokesperson for the hotel group stated that if the exact items are not available, they will substitute something "similar."

Like a roulette wheel, it's how you spin it and where the ball lands, that determines what you win and when. Good luck.
