Chinese air carrier, Cathay Pacific, is once again selling its "All Asia Pass" from as little as $999. What's the pass good for, you ask? In a betel nutshell, you can fly to as many as 18 cities across Asia in a three-week window for certain travel periods in 2003 and 2004. Departures are out of Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, as well as Toronto and Vancouver to Hong Kong and then on to any number of the 17 other destinations you decide to visit, including--but not limited to--Bali, Bangkok, Cebu, Osaka, Singapore and Tokyo.

The basic price is $1,199 if you buy directly from a travel agent, but those over 55 or under 24 can purchase the pass for $100 less at $1,099. Or, even better for anyone, regardless of your age, is first to join Cathay's "CyberTraveler" program, which allows you to buy the pass at the lower $999. CyberTraveler is the airline's frequent flier program; it's free to join and can be accomplished quickly online at www.cathay-usa.com. You can purchase as many as four passes once you join.

At this price, your travel is restricted to February 9 through May 15 and August 14 through December 4, 2003. For 2004, you can travel between February 1 through May 13 and August 17 through December 3. Additional fees of up to $300 will be added on to travel in other time periods. You can also add on farther flung destinations such as India, New Zealand and some Australian destinations as well as extending your pass to up 90 days of travel for additional fees as well.

The All Asia Pass must be purchased through a licensed travel agent and is available only to current residents of the U.S. and Canada. For further details, go online to https://www.cathay-usa.com/offers/aap/offer.asp.
