Crystal Goes Overboard with Savings

Aboard its two elegant mid-sized ships, Crystal (tel. 888/799-4625; www.crystalcruises.com) is offering lots of ways to save in 2009. Already included in the fares are all non-alcoholic beverages, dining in specialty restaurants, a wide variety of enrichment classes and lectures, and transportation to the town centers from most ports.

• Asia Upgrades: Crystal is offering complimentary two-category stateroom upgrades and up to $2,000 per person for Penthouse accommodations with Crystal Symphony's spring cruises in China & Japan and Southeast Asia. Windstar Targets Families

Windstar (tel. 800/258-7245; www.windstarcruises.com) is making a cruise aboard one of its three sleek sailing vessels more appealing than ever.

• The line is offering a 50% reduction on cruise deposits on all new bookings made now through February 28, 2009, for any 2009 sailing that is not within final payment requirement. The program allows guests between now and February 28, 2009, to make a deposit of $375 per person, instead of $750 per person, within three days of booking a Windstar cruise to secure a reservation for 2009 sailings that are outside of the final payment period. The remaining deposit is due March 31, 2009, or 90 days prior to sailing, whichever comes first.
• Enjoy up to 50% off select 2009 European cruises departing April through November. Wind Spirit and Wind Star itineraries include sailings between Athens and Venice, Istanbul and Athens, Civitavecchia/Rome and Barcelona, and Barcelona and Lisbon. Wind Surf itineraries include sailings between Barcelona and Civitavecchia/Rome, Civitavecchia/Rome and Nice, Venice to Venice, Civitavecchia/Rome to Civitavecchia/Rome, Barcelona and Nice, Civitavecchia/Rome and Venice, and Barcelona to Lisbon. Get 500 Big Ones

eCruises.com (tel. 800/223-6868; www.ecruises.com) is doling out up to $500 in onboard credits (per cabin) on select Norwegian Cruise Line Alaska, Mexico and Caribbean sailings booked now through Feb. 1, 2009 (deal applicable to new bookings only). Onboard credits can be used for activities and amenities like spa treatments, specialty dining charges and gambling in the casino. The onboard credit applies to sailings including the 7-night March 8, 2009, Norwegian Pearl from Miami to Roatan, Belize City, Cozumel and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas (rates start at $429 per person); the 7-night Alaska cruise on May 2, 2009 aboard the Norwegian Star from Vancouver to Seattle (rates start at $499 per person); a 7-night Bermuda cruise leaving May 15, 2009, out of Boston (rates start at $569 per person); and a weeklong cruise out of New York departing on Dec. 12, 2009 onboard the Norwegian Gem calling Port Canaveral, FL and Great Stirrup Cay, Nassau and Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas (rates start at $699 per person). With savings of up to 72%, fares start as low as $1,249 per person. (Solo travelers pay a single supplement of 25% and third and fourth guests in a stateroom will receive an additional 50% reduction off of their cruise fare.) For select 10- to 14-night Europe voyages between April and November 2009, reap free airfare, 2-for-1 cruise fares and an additional price reduction of $2,000 per stateroom on accommodation in categories G through A. For winter cruises in 2009/2010, passengers get free airfare, 2-for-1 cruise fares and amenities valued at up to $1,500 per stateroom. Further, on 10-day voyages, get a $500 per cabin price cut, $500 per cabin shipboard credit and free pre-paid gratuities. For 12- to 24-day voyages, there's a $1,000 per cabin price cut and on 25- to 40-day cruises there's $1,500 per cabin price cuts; plus for both, a $500 per cabin shipboard credit and free pre-paid gratuities.
