If you're still planning a late winter break and you've got a few extra beans in your coffer, consider a little splurging on your accommodations. The Meridien Hotel & Resort chain is offering "Winter Passport" rates from through March 31, 2003, that amount to as much as 50% off published rates.
The discounted rates are available at Le Meridien's four- and five-star hotels around the world, as well as at 43 Nikko hotels. You can select from 65 hotels in Europe, with nice sample room rates such as these: Paris' swanky Le Meridien Etoile from $179 per room per night and London's posh Le Meridien Grosvenor House from $265 per room per night.
Out in the Asia Pacific area, there are 53 hotels to choose from, including Melbourne's Le Meridien Rialto with rooms from $118 per night. In the Middle East & India sector, consider Dubai's Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort from $187 per room per night. (Dubai would be an exciting place to be during the pre-maybe-Iraqi War buildup!). In the Africa & Indian Ocean division of the chain, consider the Seychelles Le Meridien Barbarons, at $195 per room per night. Closer to home, there's Chicago's Le Meridien from only $129 per night.
These Winter Passport rates are available seven nights a week, but a limited number of rooms at each hotel is allocated for this special discount, so advance booking is essential. Please note also that the room prices are all approximate U.S. dollar rates as converted from British pounds sterling.
