Hotels big and small are trying to entice you to stay with them this fall with a number of special deals that include free nights, upgrades, resort credits, rebates, and lower prices. Here is a sampling of what's on offer.
Hyatt Resorts (tel. 800/55-HYATT; www.hyatt3forfree.com) is offering fall accommodation deals with its Three for Free promotion. Guests can earn free room nights, breakfasts, upgrades, and other special amenities at 18 Hyatt Resort properties in the U.S., Caribbean, and Mexico. From now until December 19, 2008, book a "Three for Free" package and get a free night (third, fourth or fifth night of stay, depending on the property), a complimentary room upgrade, and a full breakfast for two daily. Additionally, if you pay with an American Express card you will also receive a welcome amenity upon check-in as well as complimentary late check-out (requesting offer code AX3FF at the time of reservation).
For example, stay at the deluxe beachfront Hyatt Regency Cancún Caribe Resort in Mexico. You'll have panoramic views of the Caribbean from private balconies or terraces and the Three for Free rate for weekdays and weekends starts at $119 per night plus tax with the fourth night free. Get the fifth night free as part of the Three for Free at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino in Palm Beach, Aruba with garden rooms that are priced from $285 plus tax. The fifth night is also free in a balcony room overlooking the Sierra Nevada Mountains at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Incline Village, Nevada. Rates here start from $199 per night on weekdays and $245 on weekends.
Sometime a deal sounds almost too good to be true, but in this case, it comes from The Leading Hotels of the World (www.lhw.com) so I'm inclined to believe. The Leading Hotels of the World is celebrating its 80th anniversary by passing on some incredible discounts to its guests. To commemorate its founding year (1928), at 12 noon GMT (8am Eastern Standard Time) on October 1, 2008, they will release a limited number of the world's most-coveted hotel rooms at the unprecedented rate of $19.28 per night. For 80 minutes only, registered consumers will be able to secure the $19.28 rate and save big bucks on some of the world's most beautiful and exclusive properties in more than 30 countries worldwide including Hotel Raphael in Paris, the Langham in Hong Kong or London, Banyan Tree in Bangkok, Grand Hotel Miramare in Portofino (Italy), the Taleon Imperial Hotel in St, Petersburg (Russia), the Alex Hotel in New York, Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, The Gleneagles in Scotland, The Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town, Marquis Los Cabos in Mexico, or Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires. You can pre-register to save time and have a better chance of securing a room at this price at www.lhw.com/1928.
If you are Puerto Rico bound, the Caribe Hilton (tel. 877/GO-HILTON; www.hiltoncaribbean.com/sanjuan) is a classic hotel that is famous for being the birthplace of the piña colada. It is also in a key position, being both beachfront and only a few minutes from Old San Juan and the historic fort. This fall (now until December 22, 2008), stay at the Caribe for at least two nights and receive a $50 resort credit, or stay for four nights or more and receive a $75 resort credit. Guests can apply the credit toward a meal at any of the resort's nine food and beverage outlets, a soothing treatment at Olas Spa, or a tropical cocktail at the infinity pool. Rates start at $139 per night based on single occupancy and $159 per night based on double occupancy. When making reservations request booking code P1 for the $50 two or three night resort credit special and P2 for the $75 four or more night resort credit special.
