Choice Hotels International has created a series of packages for its Comfort, Clarion and Rodeway Inns chains that make leaf peeping affordable this autumn throughout the eastern United States.
In Vermont, you can stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites in St. Johnsbury for $149 for either single or double occupancy now through October 20 (Friday and Saturday nights are excluded). In addition to the room you get a guided tour of a nearby maple syrup factory (plus free samples and a 10% discount in the factory store), and complimentary breakfast. The hotel also features an indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna. When making reservations request discount code LEAF for hotel ID VT031. For $129 you can stay at a Clarion in South Burlington (www.clarionvermont.com), which also gets you a $5 gas card to refill, a tour of the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, $10 off in coupons from a local restaurant, and discount admissions to local museums. Ask for code PGREAT at hotel VT039 for this South Burlington deal valid through October 17.
You also have two choices in Pennsylvania. The first features a stay at the Rodeway Inn in Kittanning for a low $75 now through Halloween. The extras include coupons good for local discounts, a treats basket in your room of local goodies, a bottle of sparkling cider and complimentary breakfast (code PFALLV, hotel PA136). In West Chester, PA, you can stay at the Brandywine Valley Comfort Inn for $89.95 now through the end of November. Extras in this package include a free tour of the QVC studios (these are becoming incredibly popular, by the way), two-for-one admissions to a variety of area museums and attractions including the Brandywine River Museum and stunning Longwood Garden, a coupon book to the King of Prussia Mall and complimentary breakfasts (code PFALL, hotel PA232).
In West Springfield, Massachusetts, you can stay in a Quality Inn for only $58.50, Monday through Wednesdays now through October 1. Free parking and free breakfasts are thrown in (code LBIGEE, hotel MA005).
Finally, the Comfort Inn Central in Williamsburg, Virginia is offering $112 a night packages from September 26-December 31, 2002 with a minimum two-night stay. Extras include breakfasts, two passes to Colonial Williamsburg and a discount dinner at the Fireside Steakhouse and Seafood (code PCHWIL, hotel VA142).
