Yes, you read that correctly. Singapore Air (tel. 800/742-3333; www.singaporeair.com) has brought back a popular promotion -- the Singapore Stopover -- which is designed for travelers whose destination is somewhere in Asia but who may want to stop in Singapore for an evening. The promotion, priced at just one U.S. dollar, includes hotel accommodations for one night, airport-hotel transfers, hop-on, hop-off bus rides and admission to key attractions. What's the catch? You must act quickly and book by November 15 in order to take advantage of what seems to good to be true, but isn't.
Singapore Air's promotion requires you to travel between now and March 31, 2010. It's valid based on double occupancy, but single occupancy is $37, for passengers traveling on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights en route to another destination beyond Singapore. The price includes hotel accommodations for one night in category A hotels; 50% discount on the a la carte food menu at specific locations at the hotel; airport-hotel-airport transfers; free rides on the city's hop-on bus and shuttle, free admission to seven different attractions, including the Jurong BirdPark, the National Orchid Museum, Sentosa Island Museum, Singapore Zoo, and more. If you want to upgrade to different accommodations, that's also possible, but your price will climb a little bit.
