Tip -- When you change money, ask for some small bills or loose change. Rude or lazy cashiers may tell you they have no small bills or change, but persist with a smile and a plea nonetheless. It's their job to provide cash, not the job of your taxi driver. Petty cash will come in handy for tipping and public transportation. Consider keeping the change separate from your larger bills, so it's readily accessible and you'll be less of a target for theft.
