Other departure dates are possible, all the way through the end of September, but they are priced higher, going as high as $1,749 for mid-summer travel, when Hong Kong usually experiences a dry spell. In May, the weather is starting to become hotter and more humid, but there are several festivals -- one to honor the Buddha and the Hong Kong Dragon Boat festival on May 28. Regardless of when you go, to take advantage of these rates you must book by April 9.
