Want to relax someplace after the holidays? Then consider Petrabax Vacations' one-week getaways to Spain. Expect sunny weather much of the time, but it can be quite cold, especially in Madrid, in winter.
The $499 Madrid package price is per person, double occupancy, with roundtrip economy air on Continental Airlines or US Airways from New York, Newark or Boston, with six nights at the four-star Hotel Florida Norte, Tryp Alcala or similar first-class hotel. The hotel taxes and breakfast are not included, nor are airport departure taxes (including the security tax) and fees of about $80. You'll enjoy Madrid, no doubt, but can easily get away on day excursions to Avila, Segovia or Toledo as well.
There is also a six-night package to the Costa del Sol for $539, and a combo Madrid/Costa del Sol package starting at $599. The combo provides three nights each in the capital and at a resort hotel on the Mediterranean. The Costa del Sol-only package provides a choice of four-star hotels such as the Cervantes and Melia Costa del Sol in Torremolinos.
The Costa del Sol packages are for Thursday departures on nonstop Air Plus flights to Malaga from New York. You can go on Iberia for the same package at $679. The Madrid/Costa del Sol combo package includes air transportation between Malaga and Madrid, of course.
If you've got more time, more money and you want to toss in an additional continental, then look no further than Petrabax' Costa del Sol/Morocco combo. Priced from $1,219 late January through February departures out of JFK, you get six nights in Morocco and seven nights in the Costa del Sol.
