Pair off for Paris with This Affordable Winter Getaway

I praised Sunny Land in this space recently for its $299 roundtrip airfares to Paris and Amsterdam, lasting through May of 2003. With war jitters and the economy still not helping to encourage tourism to Europe, the fares are sagging lower each day. Now comes Sunny Land to say that for $100 more, you can stay three nights in Paris. That means $399 for roundtrip air and hotel.

Paris Supersaver is the name of their special, valid from now through October 31, 2003, featuring daily departures from 15 U.S. gateways. The $399 special is based on departures out of either New York or Boston through March 31, 2003. It features a centrally located 2-star hotel with private bathrooms, too. If you don't want to travel all the way to Paris for just a three-night stay, consider the extra night offer, starting at $41 per person per night. If you want a better class hotel, you can upgrade to a 3-star establishment for a price as low as $60 for the three nights.

Flights are on Lufthansa German Airlines, which has 15 U.S. gateways, so be sure to ask for rates from the one nearest you. The supplement for the gateways other than New York or Boston ranges from $100 to $200, depending on location. You will, of course, arrive in Germany and connect to Paris from there.

Rates mentioned are per person based on double occupancy, and subject to a 10% fee to cover local government taxes and service. In addition, there will be a surcharge of $110 to $120 for airport taxes and security fees bringing your total to around $560 per person. Some black out dates apply.

Sunny Land recommends you reserve 30 days in advance, but if you can't do that, you can book later and pay a $25 late booking fee. Contact Sunny Land at 800/783-7839 or visit their Web site, www.europehotdeals.com.
