With prices sliding lower than ever for this coming winter, some Americans are still sitting on their hands, hedging their bets that prices will drop even lower before they book tickets to Europe. The British Tourist Authority is tired of waiting for these people to make up their minds. "Just go!" is what they say, and with these prices to London and beyond, you'd be less than wise to wait any longer.
The lowest priced package, organized by American Airlines Vacations, is three nights in London out of the NYC area from $299 and includes, with roundtrip air from New York's JFK or from Newark to Heathrow, three nights at a selected Thistle hotel, daily continental breakfast, a River Thames sightseeing cruise, a 2-for-1 dining discount, hotel service charges and taxes. The price is per person, based on double occupancy
Another package from the same source begins at $429 per person, double occupancy, with roundtrip airfare, one night in Salisbury at the famous White Hart, two nights at the Francis in Bath, daily continental breakfast, hotel service charges and taxes.
A Scottish Fling package for five nights begins from $637, again per person sharing a double room, and includes roundtrip airfare, one night at the Holyrood Hotel in Edinburgh, two nights at Russacks in fabled St. Andrews (home of golf), and one night in Aberdeen, with continental breakfasts daily, hotel service charges and taxes.
These packages are limited in number, so it's a good idea to book them soon. You can travel between now and March 31, 2003. Other departure dates available at higher rates, as are packages from the following U.S. departure cities: Boston, Miami, St. Louis, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Chicago, Raleigh/Durham, Kansas City MO.
