Tourcrafters Tops Itself in Italy

What is a travel deal that's more unbelievable than unbelievable? We said the "u" word about a recent Tourcrafters' Italy offer, but they've outdone themselves, again. Now, the firm is offering a 7-night winter package taking in both Rome and Florence for just $649, roundtrip air included.

This best deal-of-the best includes transatlantic airfare to and from the USA on Lufthansa to Rome (and from Florence on the return), four nights in a four-star hotel in Rome, three nights in a four-star hotel in Florence, daily Italian buffet breakfast, a first-class express train ticket from Rome to Florence, hotel taxes and services charges, and a gift bottle of wine at each hotel.

The Rome hotels included in the package are located in the historic center of the city. The Hotel Gallia is in front of Santa Maria Maggiore (home church to the Pope in his role as Bishop of Rome); the Hotel Genio is near the Piazza Navona and its marvelous fountains; and the Hotel Pace Helvezia overlooks the Piazza Venezia. In Florence, the Hotel Carolus (the only lodging used in this package) is sited just on the edge of the historic city center. All hotels are rated four-star by the Italian government and have sound-proofed guest rooms, hair dryers, satellite TV, minibars and direct-dial phones.

The package is available from November 1 through December 14 in 2002 and again from January 6 through 31 in 2003. You must include a Saturday night stay. The $649 price is per person, sharing a double room, and is for departures from New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Boston. From Chicago and Atlanta, add a $50 supplement, from Los Angeles add a $210 supplement.

Make your reservations at least 21 days before departure and no later than January 10, 2003. All prices are subject to availability and do not include airport fees and taxes.
