This week's Smart Deal, from Go-Today (tel. 800/227-3235; www.go-today.com) promises a stylish London experience. With four-star accommodations and round-trip airfare, this six-night London package starts at $799 for departures this fall.

As one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, London doesn't disappoint. Between the double-decker buses, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace, visitors have plenty to experience. Six nights may not seem like nearly enough time, but chances are you'll run out of money before you run out of things to see (the theater is unparalleled), eat (British cuisine is no joke), and buy (tea, clothing, and shoes are a must).

The base rate for this package includes two accommodation options: Kensington Close Hotel & Spa (close to the High Street Kensington Tube stop and near Hyde Park and Earl's Court), and Thistle City Barbican Hotel in East London (close to St. Pancras Tube and Eurostar rail station, and not too far from the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Tower Bridge).

Trip Type: Air-inclusive; independent

What the Quoted Price Gets You: Round-trip airfare from New York to London, six nights in a four-star hotel, breakfast daily, hotel taxes and service charges, and airline fuel surcharges.

What Else You'll Have to Pay: Airport taxes and government fees, which can range up to $240. Note: a mock booking at this rate added $184 per person.

Book By: As soon as possible to ensure availability

When: Prices reflect select departure dates in late October, but many fall 2010 and winter 2011 departures start at $849.

Other Details: You can depart at any time now through March 2011, but the prices will of course reflect those changes in departures. Hotel upgrades are possible, ranging all the way up to the contemporary Sanderson hotel in London's West End (add from $750 per person).

All prices are per person and, if lodging is a component of the package, based upon two people traveling together (unless otherwise noted). The prices listed are general starting rates; see "What Else You'll Have to Pay" for details about associated taxes and fees. Base-prices, taxes, and fees can vary based on point of departure and time of travel. Blackout dates may apply. Trip add-ons like sightseeing tours and meal plans may also increase the price. Check with the tour operator for additional gateways and any single supplements, which is the extra cost that a solo traveler would pay to book the deal.
