The trend of giving freebies on the anniversary of the last years' attacks appears to be growing, this time with hotels. The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has organized a special that gives airline passengers lodgings gratis on September 11 when booking a minimum two-night stay, meaning you pay for either the 10th or the 12th. Over 60 hotels are participating including reliable chains such as Amerisuites, Baymont Inn, Holiday Inn, Radisson--even a Hilton hotel is on the list. There are also a couple of gay-friendly accommodations listed for you LGBT travelers.
