The Puerto Rican Tourism Company is offering for the third time in the span of only one year their incredible free airfare-for-rooms deal. That's right, free airfare. Of course, it's not quite that easy. There are restrictions and limitations, but once you get those figured out, those seats and beds are as good as yours.

In a nutshell, you must book between August 18-30 only for travel between September 1 through November 1, 2002, and you must be able to depart out of one of ten following airports offering service to Puerto Rico:

  • Boston: Logan
  • Chicago: O'Hare
  • Dallas-Fort Worth
  • Fort Lauderdale International
  • Miami International
  • New York: JFK
  • New York: LaGuardia
  • Newark Airport
  • Orlando International
  • Philadelphia International

Puerto Rico Tourism Company has recreated this promotion with the help of several vacation wholesaler, and these are the people you should contact to make your arrangements

You can also have your travel agent go through either GoGo Worldwide Vacations or Travel Impressions. At the time of writing, none of these companies had any information concerning this promotion on their sites, so your best bet would be to use the phone to make your reservation and use the sites to surf for available hotels. Of course, we think the best place to start would be our own listings reviewed by our expert authors here at Frommer's. To get started, just go to www.frommers.com/destinations/puertorico or click on any of the Puerto Rican destination names at the top of this article.
