June 6, 2003 -- Here's the kind of quandary we love to grapple with: do you wander out to explore the majestic countryside surrounding your gorgeous, pampering all-inclusive luxury resort? Here's the chance to answer that question yourself. Almond Beach Village in Barbados -- normally charging a minimum of $500 per night in the off-season -- is willing to give you five nights starting from $929. And that includes airfare from Miami!

This package includes not only airfare and you room, but since it's an all-inclusive don't expect to pay extra for roundtrip airport/hotel transfers; any meals, snacks and beverages (alcoholic or not); sports and activities including motorized water sports; all hotel taxes and service charges; and a free room upgrade. Furthermore, the first child stays free. This largesse stems not only from management's Bajan heart, but is induced by the government's underwriting part of the cost. We reported on that program way back in February -- just click here to read how that works.

Although prices are subject to change at anytime without notice, and the rates mentioned are subject to availability, the deal lasts through December 14, 2003. Airfare credit and free room upgrade are not available from July 13 through August 15, 2003. The price does not include US airport departure fees and taxes. Prices are per person for a five-night stay, based on double occupancy for a standard room category.

Here are some sample add-on airfares, which may be different on your particular date of travel, however: $10 from Philadelphia, $40 from Washington DC, $80 from Boston or New York, $90 from Hartford, $110 from Chicago or Houston, $130 from Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto. It's $170 add-on from Norfolk or Richmond, $200 from Cincinnati, and $210 from Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit or Los Angeles. From Pittsburgh it's $220, from San Francisco $330.
