Stunning sights--and stunning savings--await you on two separate, but equally life-changing adventures available this fall and winter from Djoser.
The first? An 18-day/16-night safari through the heart of Kenya's national parks system from only $1,995 out of NYC through December--that's $100 off their usual fee. That price tag includes all flights, lodgings, knowledgeable local guides, transfers and transportation, in this case an open safari bus. Your lodgings consist of comfortable hotels in the cities and two-man tents out in the parks. You'll stop in five parks teeming with wildlife, visit Lake Victoria and Mt. Kenya and tour Nairobi and a Masai village. You can add on an additional four days for another $200 and a stay in Mobasa and a day at the beach. Single supplements are $175 for the shorter journey and $225 for the longer. Not included is the cost of meals (estimated at just under $200), taxes, entrance fees, visas or souvenirs. There are additional fees for different points of departure as well. Dates are 8/31, 9/28, 10/26, 11/23 and 12/21. After that the price goes back up $100 to $2,095.
The second is a 17-day/13-night tour through emergent Vietnam from $1,645 out of LA or $1,695 out of New York. You'll move from larger cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City) to smaller villages, sampling the mesh of culture that is Vietnam today--from French influenced design to pagodas and rice paddies. Prices also include airfare on Singapore Air, ground transportation, hotels, guides and breakfasts. You'll pay for all other meals and entrance fees, estimated at $200. You can extend this trip as well with an additional five days into neighboring Cambodia, still a closed off and wary country. Exciting, indeed! Extended trip fees run $250-$300. Single supplements are $275 for the shorter, $375 for the latter.
All Djoser tours are small groups, usually no more than 20 persons, and fairly active. Solo travelers can request to match up with a roommate to eliminate the supplemental fee, but if they can't match you, your fee is cut in half. Luke Neal, Djoser's president, said these two trips are selling out fast, so contact them at 877/356-7376 or go online to www.djoserusa.com.
