If you hurry, you may get a cabin on the world's most famous ship, the QE2, at prices up to 50% off for a cruise from Hawaii to Tahiti on January 24, 2003. While space remains, rates start as low as $999 per person. All prices are per person, two persons sharing a cabin.

You embark on the 11-night cruise in Hawaii, spending seven full days at sea (you lose a day crossing the International Date Line), with two stops (one in Papeete, Tahiti, the next in Moorea, for a full day each), and there is also a full day and one overnight stay (on board) in Auckland, New Zealand, prior to disembarkation there. The ship departs Honolulu on Friday at 11:59 PM and arrives in Auckland, Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 2 PM.

On the ship, you'll enjoy real luxury, with a choice of six dining venues, several bars and lounges, a European-style spa with his and hers dry saunas, steam baths and a co-ed thalassotherapy pool, a computer learning center with both Internet and e-mail access and the largest library afloat, manned by licensed librarians. You could also try the gym, an aerobics studio, the golf driving range or putting area, or shop at duty-free boutiques, including the only branch of Harrod's at sea. (If you want to go formal, you can rent your wear aboard, also.)

The QE2 also has a florist, a synagogue, a children's center staffed by British nannies and the only kennel at sea, not to mention a cinema, stage theater, casino, hot tubs, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, video arcade, and more (and more and more). For women traveling alone, a gaggle of gallant Gentlemen Hosts assures that the ladies will have a chance to dance or otherwise not miss out on holiday fun. You can learn more about the Gentlemen Host program online here, www.theworkingvacation.com.
