The traditional Christmas of ornamented trees it's not, but Yuletide in Mexico (it is the home of the poinsettia, after all) can be a lot of fun, particularly if you celebrate it at Avalon Resorts with one of their tequila martinis. You'll feel happy about their prices, too, which begin as low as $59 per person, all-inclusive!

All-inclusive with Avalon Resorts means all meals, domestic alcoholic beverages, non-motorized water sports, activities throughout the day, gratuities and taxes. Children 12 and under stay and eat free when sharing a room with two paying adults. Prices are based on two persons sharing a room.

To get in on their Martinis & Mistletoe package, you have to stay a minimum of three nights. In addition to the amenities mentioned above, the package includes a welcome tequila martini, a cocktail class and a resort beach bag with sunscreen, mistletoe and a holiday gift.

At Cancun's Avalon Bay, rates start from $59 per person from December 1 through 20, 2002, and from $104 per person December 21, 2002 through January 5, 2003.

At the same resort's Avalon Grand, rates start at $79 per person from December 1 through 20, and from $144 per person December 21, 2002 through January 5, 2003.

At both the above resorts, you get a special 7-hour fun-filled day packed with activities aboard the company's very own 45-foot catamaran.

At Acapulco's Avalon Excalibur, rates start at $69 per person from December 1 through 20, and from $101 December 21, 2002 through January 5, 2003.

At the Avalon Reef Club in Isla Mujeres, rates start at $86 per person from December 1 through 20, and from $149 per person from December 21, 2002 through January 5, 2003. The Isla Mujeres rate includes roundtrip airport transfers and ferry transportation on the resorts' Fast Cat boats.

At the Baccara Resort in Cancun, you get a room only, starting from $74 from December 1 through 20, and from $89 from December 21, 2002 through January 5, 2003. The price includes an exclusive 5-hour catamaran sailing charter to Isla Mujeres complete with food, beverages, music and, they say, "more." At the Baccara resort, the price is NOT all-inclusive, but children 12 and under stay free when sharing a room with two paying adults and eat free while accompanied by a paying adult for meals of equal or lesser value.

Some blackout dates apply. (A tequila martini, by the way, includes Triple Sec, lime zest and a strip of Serrano chili pepper.)
