Travelocity (tel. 888/872-8356; www.travelocity.com) is currently offering a few value-for-money Barbados packages as part of its Caribbean deals. Strangely, after searching for a weekday departure at the end on March, I found a package at a lower price than their own listed price. Round-trip airfare from New York and four-nights' accommodations at the two-star St. James Villas in St. James was listed from $742 per person, but I found it for $686 -- including taxes. The same package starts from $772 from Boston, $769 from Miami or $781 from Chicago. For an all inclusive package, try their round-trip airfare and four nights at the three-star Almond Beach Village all-inclusive in St. Peters from $1,296 from New York, $1,281 from Los Angeles or $1,304 from Atlanta.
Expedia (tel. 800/596-0252; www.expedia.com) has round-trip airfare from New York and four-nights' accommodations in a junior garden suite at the four-star beach front The Crane from $1,070 per person -- and that's for weekend travel in April including taxes.
