Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, an all-inclusive hideaway in Jamaica, has announced that its 2003 rates will be the same as those for last year, and that it has renovated its 120 garden rooms. (The resort has a total of 420 air-conditioned rooms, each with one king or two double beds, bathrooms with full baths and showers, hair dryers, phone with voice mail, color cable TV, in-room safes and private balconies or terraces.) Unlike some all-inclusive spots, Sunset Beach invites singles and families, as well as couples. All-inclusive winter rates, the high season, range from $250 to $310 per room, per night, based on double occupancy, which works out to a minimum of $125 per adult.
These rates, which are valid from now through April 15, 2003, include all meals and beverages, water sports, land activities, nightly entertainment, taxes and tips. Extra adults in the room cost $75 per night, children just $35 per child per night. If you wait until summer, the rates go down to $230 to $290 per room, per night, for two people.
The property is located on the Montego-Freeport peninsula, a short drive from the airport and near Montego Bay town. Sited on the water with three beaches, the resort features two restaurants, four tennis courts, a fully equipped fitness center, three swimming pools (two with swim-up bars), a disco, a slot machine casino, a cyber center, the newly refurbished Kidz Klub, shops, a giant Jacuzzi seating 25 persons, and more. The Spa features must be paid for separately from your room rate, however.
The property claims it is "the best value all-inclusive resort in Jamaica," and they may be right at these prices.
