Get a Quickie On the Slopes: Lots and Lots of Snow Makes for One-Night Skiing Specials in Sun Valley

It looks like an early winter skiing season in the Northern Rockies this year, and Sun Valley is benefiting from the shower of flaky white. Bald Mountain there lies under several feet of snow already.

You can ski at fabled Sun Valley with your family (that is, up to four persons) for just $240 for a one-night adventure, available through 17, 2002. The package includes a one-day lift ticket and one night's lodging throughout the Sun Valley Resort lodging facilities. It's available for multiple days at $60 per person, double occupancy. And since there's a Kids Stay & Ski Free offer running in conjunction with these packages, kids under 16 ski free when staying at the resort or any other participating Wood River Valley lodging property.

Also through December 17, 2002, you can stay at the world-famous Sun Valley Lodge itself in a deluxe room with two queen beds. Cost is $139 per night plus tax, based on up to four persons in the room. At the Sun Valley Inn the cost is $89 per room plus tax, single or double occupancy.

Los Angelinos and others in that part of the world will be glad to hear that, thanks to a federal grant, there will be daily non-stop service from the City of Angels to Sun Valley on Horizon Air, Alaska Air's shuttle service, starting December 15. A book of 12 coupons is available that puts the price at $198 per ticket, but individual tickets are as low as $278 round trip on Horizon's web site for January, 2003.
