You can get yourself into hot water, for sure, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where you could spend all your waking hours in the world's largest hot springs pool. It appears to go one for miles, but is merely 405 feet long and 100 feet wide, the biggest pool I've ever seen in a lifetime of traveling. And if you can drag yourself back to your room, you'll find it costs as little as $105 until mid-March, then $139 for the high season (through September). Holiday rates, inexplicably, are $10 less than the high-season rates. The room rate includes free continental breakfast every morning in the poolside deli.
In addition to the huge pool itself, there is an athletic club, and a sports shop, where they have the Rocky Mountain west's largest selection of swim wear (who would have guessed it?). The geothermal heat that creates the natural hot springs is part of the Ring of Fire that surrounds the Pacific Ocean, albeit an inland tongue (there's plenty of material to educate yourself at the Lodge on the subject). The pool temperature remains constant at 90°F year round. A smaller therapy pool is just 100 feet long.
The poolside deli and snack bars offer a classic menu of resort food, some of it just fun to eat, and some nutritious. The dress code everywhere here is swimsuit.
