January 28, 2004 -- The snow piles up out in the Rockies - Utah reports more than 20 feet so far this season!. Like the snow, prices keep coming down as well, as there are a lot of hotels, lodges, condos and other places with beds to keep filled this winter. Here are a few more bargains from north to south, Montana through Wyoming to Utah, for you to consider:

Montana

Check out easy-to-find information on ski deals and packages as two different websites. The first, www.skimt.com/deals.asp, lists plenty. I thought two offers were impressive, for starters.

At Bridger Bowl, these two packages are valid all season. In the "Powderhound Package," you buy three days of skiing and three nights of lodging, then get the fourth day and night free. Prices range from $156 per person quad occupancy to $197 per person double occupancy, working out to either $39 or $49 per person, per day!A "Mid-Week Package" kicks in when you buy the three days of skiing (Tuesday-Friday) and three nights lodging (Monday-Thursday) at $134 per person quad, $147 per person double, working out to just slightly more than the Powderhound. Contact them at 800/223-9609 or www.bridgerbowl.com.

The other website is for beginners who wish to learn to ski or to snowboard. Courses start as low at $59, with one at Bridger Bowl listed at $99. Check out www.skimt.com/ezski-ride.htm.

Wyoming

In Jackson Hole, you can get a "Powder Package" at the Jackson Hole Racquet Club, with a price starting at $239 per person for four nights lodging in a two-bedroom condo and three-day lift tickets for the resort, valid through April 4. A "Cowboy Package" has a price starting at $579 per person for seven nights of lodging in a two-bedroom condo in Teton Village, at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain resort, with a five-day lift ticket, also valid through April 4. They also have a "Ski Free" package starting from $55 per person, per night, including lift tickets. That's valid later in the season, from March 27 through April 4. Prices do not include tax and a "civic assessment fee" (that's a euphemism for "tourist tax"). Packages are available subject to space being available, and some restrictions apply. For reservations, phone 800/443-8613 or visit www.jhrl.com.

Utah

There's a good, long list of hot deals available at a Ski Utah website, www.skiutah.com/hotdeals, so check it out if places like Park City appeal to you. Put on the site by the providers themselves, they are usually pretty good summaries of what's available, with e-mail links and, with luck, website links as well. Three neat deals in Park City appealed to me, so I repeat them here:

A "Park View Package" includes a two-bedroom condo, a full size rental car and lift tickets at the Park City Mountain Resort, with prices starting from just $104 per person per night. Certain restrictions apply, and you must book by February 3. E-mail them at identity@pclodge.com or visit www.pclodge.com.

A "Family Fun Package," costing $189 per adult per night offers three nights in a two-bedroom condo just 1.5 miles from the Park City Mountain Resort, ground transportation from Salt Lake City and lift tickets for two adults and two children under 12 at the resort. There's a "Stay & Save Package" in which you book three nights and get the fourth one free. Along with this, you save 10% on Park City Mountain Resort multi-day lift tickets, valid through April 11. You must book by February 2 for either, at www.pcski.com.
