The With Arms Wide Open Foundation (WAWOF) is sponsoring a weekend of learning, exploration and re-connection at the US Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama--and all for the cost of a single-page essay and the stamp to mail it!

WAWOF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise public awareness of the importance of healthy parent-child relationships through community outreach programs. Their Space Camp Program fits neatly into that category. The scholarships are targeted specifically at parents who feel they need to spend more time with their child, but can't afford to pay for a vacation. (And as we know, vacations are an excellent way to rediscover others, away from the day-to-day and into sharing something extraordinary.) To that end, WAWOF is offering the funds to pay for a weekend away together, all expenses paid.

To qualify, your child must be between the ages of 7 and 11, and you must be able to travel the weekend of July 26-28 flying with the continental US.

To apply, you must write a one-page essay on 8 1/2 X 11" paper telling them exactly why you and your child would like to attend. As they stress on their Web site, the letter must be written by the parent and mailed to:

With Arms Wide Open Foundation
2nd Annual Space Camp Project
PO Box 10230
Tallahassee, FL 32302

Entries must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2002, so get writing!
