June 9, 2003 -- If you're planning a family trip to Disney World, Universal Studios or any of the central Florida theme parks, we've negotiated a sweet deal for you. Heck, it's good even if you're not going with your familial clan. Access Vacation Homes has agreed to cut the rates on its rental properties -- including apartments, condos and private homes -- for you loyal Frommers.com Newsletter subscribers.
Some two-bedroom apartments and condominiums start from $79 a night; even better, private homes start from $99. These prices are for the upcoming off-season in Orlando, from September 1 through December 20, 2003, when kids are back in school and the number of tourists drop. During the high season, June 1 through August 31, 2003, prices for the same properties would be $109 and $129 per night, respectively. During the Christmas/New Year holidays, prices are even higher, starting from $129 for condos and apartments; $139 for homes.
Happily, these prices, which reflect a $30 per night discount, are good through January 5, 2004 if you mention "Frommers.com" when you book. It's available to anyone who books through the company's website by July 1, but our readers get an additional six months at the lower rates.
There are no booking or administration fees for any rental, and if you wish, you can upgrade (for $30 additional per night) to a "premium" home. Houses or condos in that grade will include BBQ, VCR, Jacuzzi or Spa, larger televisions in living room and extra television in every bedroom, upgraded furnishings and "additional living area." The pool can be heated for a nominal fee, also.
To qualify, you have to stay at least three consecutive nights, and, if you stay less than five nights, you have to pick up the housecleaning charges as well. The firm has homes with as many as seven bedrooms (sleeping 16 persons) and condos with up to four bedrooms, sleeping ten. Access is a member of the Orlando Better Business Bureau, the American Society of Travel Agents, the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau and FLA USA.
