Mount Tremblant is Quebec's premier ski resort, and the ultra swank Fairmont Hotel there is considered the most fashionable place to stay, if you can afford it. The mountain has been rated the number one resort in North American by Ski magazine for the sixth year in a row. The Fairmont Tremblant is the only hotel on the resort to offer full service amenities as well as ski-in, ski-out access.

For the holidays, lodging at the hotel starts at C$449 per night (cost per person or per room), double occupancy. A minimum of five nights is required from December 20, 2002 to January 2, 2003, however.

Children will have daily animation activities, films, sweets, Santa Claus' arrival and other surprises, as well as arcades (for the teens). There's a Harry Potter evening, too. The Windigo Restaurant in the hotel has a buffet featuring dishes from Italy, Asia and Spain, as well as many other traditional, healthy or exotic items. New Year's Eve will be celebrated in an traditional fashion, with champagne and hats, as well as after-dinner dancing.

Cheaper, and just as much fun, is a three-night package for skiers, starting at just U.S. $545 per person, based on quadruple occupancy, at Les Suites Tremblant.

The package includes airfare from New York, Newark, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. on Air Canada, car rental or airport transfers, lodging, all taxes, gratuities (porterage and housekeeping). You stay in a one-bedroom Condo loft big enough for four adults. The dates of departures are from December 22, 2002 through January 4, 2003.

The Budget car rentals are for two persons in a midsize car. If you want a minivan for four persons, add $20 per person. Add $5 per person per night supplement for stays involving Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights at Les Suites. Kids rates and extra day rates available on request.

If you can't find another couple to go with you, double occupancy runs U.S. $815 per person. You'd have two persons staying in a one-bedroom suite at the same hotel, Les Suites Tremblant.
