The price above is for accommodations at the Kandahar Lodge at Big Mountain. It's a relatively small alpine lodge, right on the mountain. At the Grouse Mountain Lodge, down in the town of Whitefish (and on the 36-hole Whitefish Lake Golf Course), you get full-service resort service from $952 per person for the seven nights.
When you visit magnificent Glacier National Park, you'll be on a "Jammer" bus, newly-renovated (and in use for the first time) 1930s sedans accommodating up to 17 passengers on trips lasting from 2 to 9 hours in length. The 25-foot-long cars have open windows and a canvas top, which can be rolled back to enjoy the good weather. Transport is not limited to the "Jammer." You can drive your own (or rental) car through the park during daylight hours. As for reaching Whitefish, Big Mountain and Glacier National Park, you fly into Glacier Park International Airport (11 miles from the town) or take Amtrak, which has passenger service daily in each direction from as far away as Chicago and Seattle/Portland.
Glacier National Park itself is crammed with scenic beauty, so you must not miss it during your stay. The Big Mountain Resort itself has a wide range of summer activities, including golf, fly-fishing, hiking, sea kayaking (on the lake) and thrill sledding (without snow!). Surrounding the resort, which, yes, is on a big mountain, is the splendid Whitefish Range of mountains, the longest designated wild and scenic river system in the country, and more than a thousand alpine lakes.
