It's good for your soul to give a little something back, whether it be a kind word or a kind act. The Good Sam Club is doing just that this weekend, May 18-19, by organizing their nearly one million members into a giant outdoor coast-to-coast cleaning crew to kick off the beginning of the summer travel season-one piece of trash at a time.

For those who don't know about the club, here's the skinny: in 1966 a group of RV enthusiasts decided to slap some smiling "good Samaritan" stickers on their bumpers to let other motorists know they were there to help on the road, if need be. Word spread through the motorpark networks and many clubs across the country began to form. Now, nearly a million RV families act through the clubs to make RVing safer, to save members money through club-endorsed benefits and services, and to assist citizens, parks, campgrounds, highways, and legislature through a variety of projects in the U.S. and Canada The first National Cleanup Day was held in 1996 with the modest goal of having each member pick up a single piece of trash on any public on the designated day. Now they're asking anyone and everyone to pick up and dispose of one piece of trash tomorrow and Sunday. If you want to remove more, that's fine too.
