Choose the right room, and it will have views of the NYC skyline (skyscrapers waaay in the distance, the apartment buildings of Washington Heights right across the river). That’s what’s most notable about this small motel, along with affable staff, and the fact that, on weekdays during rush hour you can walk to the ferry to get into the city (it’s a lovely ride; other times, you take the public bus for 30-40 minutes or so). Rooms are tidy, with good quality mattresses but forgettable décor (laminate floorboards or industrial carpets, lots of shades of brown and tan, white duvets). The area is residential, with not much of interest. In low season rates here will match those right in the city, so this is only a choice for high- and shoulder-season.
