I had a flashback to a mid-range hotel I once stayed at in rural India when I walked into this place. The lobby had the same shiny marble floors (of the type we usually use in bathrooms here in the U.S.), and guestrooms were surprisingly colorful and spotlessly clean, but with small dings (like paint peeling from the face of a door, or scratches on the wood furniture). As at that subcontinent lodging, the wall mounted TV was massive, but here it was set above an oddball amenity: a fake, flat fireplace, with digital flames available at the flick of the remote. Guests have two ways to get into NYC (beyond their own cars): either the public bus ($4/person) or a private shuttle ($10/person). Both have frequent service and can get you into Manhattan in between 25 and 55 minutes, depending traffic. You’ll want to get into the city, as the area directly around the hotel is nothing more than highway.
