The name doesn’t lie: stay here, and you’ll be right on the river, meaning rooms have splendid views of the skyscrapers of lower Manhattan. The Hyatt is also just a 1 minute walk from the PATH train, about 5 minutes from the ferry, which means very convenient transfers into the city. Alas, that’s where the good news ends, as there can be major noise issues room-to-room (paper thin walls), décor is dated, beds are older too, some rooms are quite small, and too many of the staff seem like they wish they were working elsewhere. Still, when Manhattan is insanely pricey, this could be a good option for travelers who want a decent location, views, and all the amenities of a full-service hotel.
