This lively wine bar has been around since 1987, but since the owner’s daughter and son-in-law took over in 2014, people come just as much for the food as they do for the wine. You might start with chanterelle mushrooms with chives and poached egg, followed by panfried pork with sage-infused polenta, and finish up with a chocolate mousse, for example. Wash that down with a berry-rich Languedoc red or a light and fruity Beaujolais, and you’ve got yourself one memorable and gourmet meal. Prices are extremely reasonable, considering the close proximity to the chic Palais Royal. You can also buy wines to go, making this a great stop if you’re picnicking. Reservations required for dining. Drinking at the bar is first-come, first-served.
