Getting There

The Long Beach Peninsula begins just off U.S. 101 in southwest Washington. U.S. 101 leads north to Aberdeen and south to Astoria, Oregon. Wash. 4 leads to Long Beach from Longview.

Getting Around

Pacific Transit System (tel. 360/642-9418; www.pacifictransit.org) operates public buses that serve the area from Astoria in the south to Aberdeen in the north.

Festivals

Annual events on the Long Beach Peninsula include the Northwest Garlic Festival on the third weekend in June, the SandSations sand-sculptures tournament in late July, the Washington State International Kite Festival in mid-August, the Cranberrian Fair in early October, and the Water Music Festival (chamber music) in late October.
