Getting There -- St. Mary's City is located on Route 5. From Washington, take the Route 5 exit from I-495 (the Capital Beltway). Or from Annapolis, take Maryland Route 50 to Route 301 to Route 4 to Solomons and across the Gov. Thomas Johnson Bridge. Turn left a few miles past the bridge onto Route 235, right on Route 489, and left onto Route 5 into St. Mary's City. For a more scenic drive, take Route 50 to Route 301 to Route 5 all the way to St. Mary's City -- a slow and meandering route.
