Virginia City -- The Alder/Virginia City KOA, 2280 Mont. 287, Alder, MT 59710 (tel. 800/562-1898 or 406/842-5677; www.koa.com), has over 100 RV sites and 50 tent sites, and is open from March to November. The campground has a dump station, propane sales, store, a playground, and a fishing pond. Tent sites are $24, RV sites $36, cabins $59.
