Campgrounds -- The 22-site Bonita Canyon Campground in Chiricahua National Monument, on Ariz. 186 (tel. 520/824-3560), charges $12 per night. Along the road to Portal not far from the national monument, there are several small national forest campgrounds. Some are free and some charge $10 for a site. At Cochise Stronghold, 35 miles southwest of Willcox off U.S. 191, a 10-site campground charges $10 per night.
