Las Brisas Review

This is a local landmark dating from 1957, often considered Acapulco's signature hotel. On a hillside with the best bay views of any hotel in Acapulco, Las Brisas is known for its tiered pink stucco facade, private pools, and 50 pink Jeeps rented exclusively to guests. The retro guest rooms are like separate villas sculpted from a terraced hillside, with panoramic views of Acapulco Bay from a balcony or terrace, as well as a private or semiprivate pool. They have been upgraded and retain the beloved "Las Brisas" style with pink and stone walls, whitewashed wood furnishings, flatscreen TVs and DVD players, and marble bathrooms. Early each morning, continental breakfast arrives in a cubbyhole. The spacious Regency Club rooms, at the apex of the property, offer the best views. In case you tire of your own pool, Las Brisas runs a beach club less than a kilometer (a half-mile) away, on Acapulco Bay; continuous shuttle service departs from the lobby. Mandatory service charges cover the shuttle service and all tips.

Facilities:
2 restaurants; deli; concierge; gym; room service; small spa; 4 lighted tennis courts; private beach club w/fresh- and saltwater pools

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
