Fairmont Pierre Marqués Review

The refined Fairmont Pierre Marqués is both more exclusive and more relaxed than the famous Fairmont Princess next door, to which guests also have access. It once served as a private home for J. Paul Getty and is today one of Acapulco's most prestigious hotels. Together the Pierre Marqués and the Princess offer more activities than you are likely to have time for, with three pools alone at the Pierre Marqués, a beautiful Pacific beach with watersports activities, championship golf, tennis, and a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center. Luxurious guest rooms include villas, bungalows, and low-rise pavilions overlooking the pools, tropical gardens, or beach. Fine dining is available here or at the Princess, with a shuttle regularly connecting the two hotels. Service throughout the hotel is outstanding. The Fairmont lies in Diamante, about a 20-minute drive from the center of Acapulco.

Facilities:
Restaurant; cafe; deli; 2 bars; concierge; championship golf course; health club and spa; 3 outdoor pools; room service; 5 outdoor lighted tennis courts (10 additional courts at Fairmont Princess, including 2 indoor courts)

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
