AttractionsArles is full of Roman monuments. Place du Forum, shaded by trees, is around the old Roman forum. The Café de Nuit, immortalized by van Gogh, once stood on this square. You can see two Corinthian columns and fragments from a temple at the corner of the Hôtel Nord-Pinus. Three blocks south is place de la République, dominated by a 15m-tall (50-ft.) blue porphyry obelisk. On the north is the Hôtel de Ville (town hall) from 1673, built to Mansart's plans and surmounted by a Renaissance belfry. Click the names below for more detailed information.
