Frommer's Review
Few other hotels in town evoke Provence's charm as well as this one, which originated as a bakery at the turn of the 20th century. Occupying a town house on a tree-lined square in the heart of Arles, it has public rooms filled with antiques, an ornate staircase with wrought-iron balustrades, and many of the trappings you'd expect in an upscale private home. Guest rooms are glamorous, even theatrical; they come in a range of shapes, sizes, and decors, and are filled with rich upholsteries and draperies arranged artfully beside oversize French doors. Bathrooms contain combination tub/showers. Many bullfighters and artists have stayed here -- their photographs, as well as a collection of safari photos by Peter Beard, decorate the public areas. The atmosphere extends to the sophisticated on-site restaurant Brasserie Nord-Pinus.
